SOLD! Thank you for your interest but the boat has been sold. Glen Coe LM Pilothouse Sloop
Glen Coe was built in Denmark in 1986 and launched in North America in 1987. She comes from a long line of high quality, very popular pilothouse sloops built by LM Glass Fiber a/s in Kolding, Denmark. These boats were built for the North Sea and they are very sea-worthy and sea-kindly. They were also built to sail and they have an encapsulated fin-keel and a balanced spade rudder on a half skeg. Downwind under spinnaker, Glen Coe goes like a train!
Glen Coe is a very high quality boat, and over the last few years, all of her systems have been upgraded or replaced. She has been meticulously maintained by owners who will miss her, but more sailing and the need for considerably more space has inspired an upgrade. If you are looking for a pilothouse that will keep you out of the bad weather when you want to and yet provide 360º visibility and lots of ventilation when it’s warm, this is an ideal boat. In the good weather, disconnect the inside steering station and enjoy the wind in your face at the tiller.
The following is an inventory of Glen Coe:
Ground Tackle 22 lb Bruce anchor with 12 feet of galvanized chain and 150 feet of 5/8ths nylon rode.
SailsBuilt for Glen Coe by North Sails in 1995, the paneled Dacron main with upper batons and the Dacron/Mylar laminate roller furling jib are in excellent condition. The full spinnaker comes with a snuffer and a pole and can be used by two people and the stay sale which hanks onto the backstay keeps Glen Coe from “sailing” too much at anchor. The mast is deck-stepped and climbing the mast is easy on the built-in steps. Mast bend is controlled by a Wichard backstay adjustor.
